October 21, 2018

Glen Celtic 3 Roscommon Utd 1 - Last week Celtic had a good win at home to Roscommon Utd. In a first half where both teams played entertaining soccer there were a number of good chances created but none take and sides went in at half time 0-0. Second half would provide goals though and Celtic would score 3 very good goals with one scorer Ryan McHugh on target for a hatrick. First after good work by Owen McStay in midfield Ryan scored from the edge of the area with good strike along the ground into the corner. Second would come ten minutes later with well worked move which ended with Ryan scoring with well taken volley. Third goal near the end followed good work on the right with Jason Connelly providing the pass for Ryan to take on two defenders before curling his effort into the bottom corner. Roscommon to their credit pulled a goal back with 3 minutes remaining but it was Celtic who got their first home win of the season. Great team effort with everyone contributing to the result.
